Bob, LMT
Clinical Massage Therapist
Bob came to bodywork through an unexpected door.
His background is in visual communication: the art of understanding how things are structured, how they relate to each other, how form and function either work together or pull apart. That way of seeing didn’t leave him when he moved into clinical massage therapy. If anything, it sharpened it.
Where most people see a body in pain, Bob sees a system trying to tell him something.
He trained at Chicago’s Soma Institute (one of the most rigorous clinical massage programmes in the country) and holds a qualification in Somatic Trauma Informed Coaching and Leadership from The School of Trauma Informed Positive Psychology, UK. His work goes beyond muscle and tissue. As a somatic coach, Bob helps clients understand the patterns their bodies have been holding — and how to begin releasing them. Patterns that are often rooted in trauma the body has never had the language to name.
The results tend to be lasting. That’s the point.
Bob’s patients often describe his sessions as the first time their body has felt genuinely understood. Understood, not just treated.
When he isn’t in the treatment room, you’ll find him on his bike, in his garden, or deep in the world of mycology (which, if you ask him, has more in common with the nervous system than you might expect).
