Jacqui, BSN, RN, LMT
Clinical Massage Therapist
Jacqui came to massage therapy by way of two worlds most people never connect.
She is a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Massage Therapist. That combination is the foundation of everything she does.
Her nursing background gave her something most massage therapists simply don’t have: a deep, clinical understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. How the body breaks down. How it compensates. How it protects itself when it has been pushed past its limits. Jacqui trained with honours at the College of Lake County Massage Therapy and the University of Mexico College of Nursing, and she brings both into the room with her every time.
The clinical knowledge informs the touch. And the touch does what clinical knowledge alone never can.
Jacqui spent years working in nursing environments where responsibility is constant, the stakes are high, and there is rarely a moment to stop and ask how you are actually doing. Where staying sharp and staying functional can quietly become a way of losing contact with your own body.
She knows that pattern because she has lived it.
That is why her work at SUVARNA is intentional and individualised, focused on creating space for the nervous system to settle, the body to reconnect, and recovery to become something sustainable rather than something squeezed in. She believes the body has far more capacity for restoration than most of us have ever been allowed to find out.
One more thing worth knowing: before any of this, Jacqui served in the United States Air Force. That chapter gave her a firsthand understanding of what it means to perform at a high level for a long time, and what the body holds onto long after the mission is over. It is not background detail. It is why she listens the way she does.
